What is a Private Track?
Private tracks are uploaded to your PYRO account in order to allow you to share them online without having them appear on your PYRO page. Once you make a track private, only people who have the private link are able to listen to the track. It will not appear on your page or news feed.
Why Would I Make a Track Private?
You can use this feature to send ideas or unfinished music to others, or to share new music with your friends before it’s released. You can even use these links to send out music for contests or press submissions.
How Do You Upload a Private Track?
Here is a step-by-step guide beginning with the track upload. You can also make tracks private from the edit screen of any previously uploaded tracks.
1. Upload Your Track
Login to your account and click the “Upload” button at the top of the page. Select your track and upload it.
2. Select “Set to Private” in the Settings
In the check boxes at the bottom of the upload page, select “Set to Private”. This option is only for PRO users. (Don’t worry, PRO accounts are currently free!) Choosing this option will create a popup to make your account PRO. Just select “Upgrade to PRO”. If the track has finished uploading (look at the load bar at the top), you can press “Save” to finalize the upload. The track will take a few minutes to process on the back end.
3. View Your Private Track
Once it has finished processing (processing takes around 5 minutes on the back end), you should see the track on your page. Verify that it is private by looking for the “Private” tag in red next to the track.
4. Get the Track’s Private Share Link
Push the share icon from the song’s page or the buttons below the song. In the center, you will see the private link to your track. Do not use the main link to the track, it will not be visible to other users. You can copy the link from the text or hit the red button to copy the URL.
5. Share and Enjoy!
Congratulations! You’re all done. You can now use this link to send your track out! If you decide to make it open to the public, simply go to the edit page and deselect “Set to Private”, and save the track. It will then appear on your page.
